On 5th March 2022, a special event was held at the North Field East project’s Site in Ras Laffan, Qatar to celebrate the safe delivery of 2 ultra-heavy Acid Gas Removal absorbers in the presence of Qatargas, CTJV top management and subcontractors' representatives.
Noora Al-Hussaini (Qatargas National developee Engineer), was the master of ceremony for the event. Nafez Bseiso (Qatargas Chief Major Projects Officer), Mike Kline (Qatargas Onshore Project Manager), Seiichiro Ikeda (CTJV Project Director), and Paul Appia (CTJV Deputy Project Director) delivered speeches to congratulate the teams. The event ended with a traditional cake cutting ceremony.
Samira Gadouchi (CTJV Logistics Manager), who successfully managed this critical logistics operation, shared her gratitude by saying: “Thanks to good coordination between all stakeholders (Ras Laffan Port Authorities, Ras Laffan Authorities, Qatargas, CTJV and all its subcontractors), the delivery of 2 absorbers from Ras Laffan port to laydown area at W17 was safely completed.”
The absorbers, manufactured by Hitachi Zosen in Japan, then shipped from Kobe Port, each weigh 1,353 tons with a diameter of 8.7 meters and 45 meters in length. The 2 pieces of equipment finally reached Ras Laffan Port in Qatar on 24th February and were then transported to the site by a 120-axle-line SPMT, which covered the 10 kilometers distance from port to laydown area in 8 hours under the escort of police vehicles.
Congratulations to all the teams for this remarkable achievement made by One-Team spirit and we look forward to the next success on the construction activities at the Site.
