Technip Energies India’s flagship CSR program, ‘Seed of Hope’, has been named 'CSR Project of the Year’ at the sixth edition of the prestigious Indo-French Business Awards & Grand Prix VIE 2024 for making a positive impact in the community.
The award was presented by Thierry Mathou, the French Ambassador, to Davendra Kumar, Managing Director of Technip Energies India at a ceremony organized by the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce (IFCCI) in partnership with Business France. The event, held on April 18, was attended by around 150 representatives of the Indo-French business community including CEOs and business leaders.
This special Jury award follows Seed of Hope being named project of the year at the 2023 IFCCI CSR Conclave & Awards. ‘Seed of Hope’ runs across many states in India and has been delivering significant benefits for people and the environment by positively impacting more than 125,000 lives since it was established in 2015. Among other achievements, it has:
- Supported 58,000 disaster-affected individuals
- Trained 500 women in employment opportunities
- Helped more than 950 young people take part in vocational training
- Helped more than 9,000 children attend school
- Helped more than 19,000 girls receive STEM education
- Installed 150 smokeless stoves, 80 solar streetlights, and 100 biogas units in the local community
- Planted more than 40,000 saplings and recycled 130,000 kg of waste
The program is aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals and aims to accelerate inclusive growth of the local community in line with Technip Energies’ ESG roadmap. The ‘Seed of Hope’ program has received many coveted awards and recognition, including the CSR Award conferred by the President of India, ‘Best Innovative Practices on SDGs’ in the Private Sector category conferred by UN Global Compact Network India (GCNI), Special Jury Recognition Award for ‘Empowering Rural Population’ in Large Enterprise Category conferred by Indian Chamber of Commerce.
