Major companies attended gathering of influential organization
Technip Energies hosted the latest bi-annual meeting, Building Responsibly, in Paris, on November 18 and 19.
Building Responsibly is a group of leading companies that work together to improve and set higher standards for human rights practices across the built environment and energy sector.
Member meetings are held twice a year and, on this occasion, 33 representatives from 16 member companies attended the meeting. Delegates came from organizations such as Bechtel, BP, Exyte, JGC, Saipem, Shell, Subsea7, Wood and others.
The meeting provided members with the opportunity to review the year, share progress, and identify priorities for 2025. In a notable development, it was announced that ADNOC will become a member of Building Responsibly during the next twelve months.
Technip Energies’ significant contribution to the event included an address by Sandra Melki, Vice President, Sustainability who outlined our dedication to Building Responsibly’s goal to advance human rights.
Loïc Chapuis, Chief Operating Officer, explained how adhering to Building Responsibly principles influences positive change within the sector by communicating expectations to subcontractors and suppliers.
In addition, Daniela Bisi, Human Rights Manager at Technip Energies’ Rome operating center, who is also a member of Building Responsibility’s Steering Committee, gave a presentation to delegates.
Sabina Lezziroli, Technip Energies’ Group Sustainability Human Rights Manager, concluded: “The meeting was a great success, and we’re delighted. Progress requires collective effort. Collaboration and transparency with our peers are essential to addressing human rights risks in the sector's supply chain.”
