Move reflects the Group’s determination to act and innovate
Technip Energies has renewed and extended its commitments to act4nature international, the alliance of businesses, NGOs, and scientific institutions taking action in favor of nature.
Arnaud Pieton, Technip Energies CEO, said: “Bridging prosperity and sustainability for a world designed to last requires action to preserve biodiversity, enhance decarbonization, and manage natural resources responsibly.
“The renewal of Act4nature commitments reflects our determination to act and innovate to reduce impact on ecosystems, promote circularity, and ensure more sustainable environment management.”
When the company joined the initiative in 2022 we defined and integrated in our strategy 11 commitments based around three axes:
- Avoiding the negative impacts of our operations on the most sensitive biodiversity areas.
- Assessing and managing risks to reduce potential impacts.
- Raising awareness among our teams, clients, and partners about biodiversity topics.
For example, Technip Energies has developed B.WaRe, a tool that assesses biodiversity and water stress risks in under 30 seconds, providing live scores and spatial analysis. The system grades risks from ‘low’ to ‘extreme’ and is applicable at all project phases.
Another example is our in-house training on Biodiversity Preservation explaining its importance, actions taken by the company, and ways employees can contribute to biodiversity protection efforts.
In this first update since joining, we now have 14 commitments focused on:
- Anchoring biodiversity further into strategy and governance.
- Assessing risks and impacts.
- Avoiding and reducing pressures on biodiversity.
- Developing partnerships and sharing knowledge.
- Raising awareness among our stakeholders about biodiversity topics.
Among our new commitments we plan to establish innovation and development partnerships on biodiversity. Meanwhile, we have strengthened former commitments to promote biodiversity impact reduction within our supply chain including partners and major suppliers.
Technip Energies’ participation in Act4nature underlines our dedication to nature conservation and pragmatic corporate commitments to biodiversity. We use our experience in Environmental Aspects and Impacts Identification (ENVID) during projects to help clients minimize their impact on biodiversity.
