On July 4, Technip Energies’ Origine headquarters hosted Club CO2's annual general meeting. The event was attended by almost all members, both in person and remotely.

Club CO2 is a French association founded in 2002, bringing together 80 players in the carbon capture, storage and utilization (CCUS) sector: emitters, capture technology suppliers, transport network operators, R&D centers, etc.

Its role? Encourage the development of CCUS technologies to ensure the decarbonization of industries and energy producers.

Club CO2 provided an update on its activities, charter, objectives and projects, particularly in the context of France's net-zero strategy.

Julie Cranga, VP Market Decarbonization Solutions at Technip Energies, is a member of Club CO2's Board of Directors and explains: "Technip Energies plays an important role in Club CO2's activities, notably by leading an industry work group. We carried out a study on CO2 transport infrastructures in France, which contributed to the new national CCUS strategy."

France has set itself the ambitious target of capturing and storing 4 to 8 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) of CO2 by 2030, and up to 50 Mtpa by 2050.
